Don't be misled by "on-site"
companies promote the benefits of getting an "on-site" inspection
report. Most always the benefits of such reports are for the
inspector, not the client. These "on-site"
reports are generally hastily completed during the actual course
of the inspection, or are rushed afterward, as everyone at the
inspection is standing around impatiently waiting.
Reports completed at the
office provide a better service for our clients
Our inspectors are
generally "crawling" all around the house and are not in a
position to carry around and fill in an inspection report.
I also use digital voice recorders to record some of the information
collected during the course of the inspection. After an
inspection of up to several hours, the I might take time
to reflect, analyze, and further research if needed, any
deficiencies and concerns that were observed. Only after the
inspector has taken this time can a proper report be completed.
Our clients are
provided an on-site verbal overview of the inspection findings at
the conclusion of the inspection.
Descriptive inspection reports that are easy to read are often completed at our office
the same day. Reports are
directly to clients.
